Kimberly L. Jackson serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Women’s Foundation of Alabama, where she brings dynamic, purpose-driven leadership to advancing economic mobility for women across the state. A respected civic leader and strategist, Kimberly leads the Foundation’s statewide efforts to drive advocacy, mobilize philanthropy, and invest in community-centered solutions. Her work is anchored by a bold goal to help move 10,000 women into the workforce by 2027. Her vision centers on creating sustainable career pathways that strengthen families, uplift communities, and fuel long-term economic growth across Alabama. Prior to joining the Women’s Foundation of Alabama, Kimberly served as Government and Community Relations Manager in the Birmingham Division of Alabama Power Company, a role she assumed in November 2019. In this position, she led a team focused on building and expanding partnerships with key government, civic, and community development stakeholders to support community strength and economic growth across Jefferson, Shelby, and portions of St. Clair counties. Kimberly joined Alabama Power in 2008 and held roles of increasing responsibility within the Regulatory, Financial Planning, and Marketing & Business Development organizations. Prior to her Birmingham Division leadership role, she served as Assistant Corporate Secretary, a position to which she was elected in 2015. Before joining Alabama Power, Kimberly’s professional experience included serving as an auditor with Ernst & Young, LLP and as an accountant with Infinity Insurance Companies. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Alabama and completed her CPA Equivalency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Kimberly is deeply engaged in civic and nonprofit leadership. She is the Immediate Past Board Chair of the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce and the previous Chair of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham. She served on the Executive Committees of the Railroad Park Foundation and REV Birmingham and she is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, the Birmingham Change Fund, and several leadership groups within the United Way of Central Alabama, including the 100th Anniversary Planning Committee, Women United Advisory Council, J. Mason Davis Leadership Society, and Tocqueville Society. She previously served as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the MS Society – Alabama/Mississippi/Louisiana Chapter, where she also chaired the Society’s 2021 Leadership Class Advisory Council. Kimberly has served on the Boards of Directors for several Chambers of Commerce in Jefferson and Shelby counties, as well as the United Way of Central Alabama’s Young Leadership Society and the Rotaract Club of Birmingham. Kimberly is a graduate of the 2022 Class of Leadership Hoover, the 2014 Class of Leadership UAB, and the 2012 Leadership Development Program at Alabama Power Company. She and her husband, L. Waymond Jackson, Jr., are the proud parents of an energetic 13-year-old son, Leo, and a highly energetic 5-year-old daughter, Kai.
